Finally, they are here!

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of patterns from a trunk show we had in the store during Shop Hop by Little Londyn. And FINALLY they came this week. The first moment I saw the model of the pattern Millie Moo I knew I wanted to make it for my niece Hattie. It is the cutest outfit ever, and she is the cutest girl ever; so it was a match made in heaven! Just look at her!

The other patterns from the trunk show that arrived this week are Such a Girl, Posh Pixie and Double Trouble. Each of them are soooo cute and I can't wait to get them all made up to display in the store!

So stop by the shop very soon to see all the latest fun I have created using these great patterns!

Sew Organized......

OK, when I ran across this today I gasped. Who would think of taking an ordinary coffee mug tree and turning it into such a fun way to store an army of scissors? FAB! Check out this blog post and you will surely be running around looking for something red to pop out in a corner of your happy place! Sandy

In with the new, out with the old!

As the temperatures creep towards the dreaded 100 degrees mark, it is so nice to have a breath of 'fall air' :) Today UPS delivered Sandy Gervais' new fall fabric line 'Awesome' along with the precuts. I am just imagining the crisp air of autumn mornings as I cut fat quarters from each bolt - and oh it feels good!
Now we can begin working on our new fall models for the store! We can't wait to show you what we have in the works. Stay tuned!

But as always, when new arrives we must say goodbye to the old. So we have moved at least FIVE DOZEN bolts of fabric to the clearance rack! They are priced to move, so come in early for the best selection!!

Project Organization

This is the first post of a series called Project Organization. I will be sharing tips from all over on organization our sewing spaces. The first one comes from me, Sandy.

PROBLEM: What to do with all the wonderful rulers we use when quilting. I have had them from one end of my studio (so much more fun to say than sewing room) to the other and never where I think they are when I need them. And I can't tell you how many times I have looked for my 8 1/2" x 21" ruler - I know what you are thinking "how can you misplace something so large?" Well I seemed to find a way, but no longer.
SOLUTION: The back of one door and several 3m repositionable hooks. I am addicted to 3m hooks and picture hangers. Easy peasy to install, no holes and no commitment because they are easy to remove. I'm 2 weeks into the new system and I LOOOVE it! My door is rarely closed so they are out of site but always where they are supposed to be when I need them.
